Boring. and I'm an academic! Does anyone need to read this stuff? Too many long quotes, esp. since the book is short. This is typing, not writing. I'm sure the research is adequate, but ultimately, who cares about any of this? The writer demonstrates that black minstrel shows were popular and that they made blacks look bad. Duh. It's really no more complex than that; the writer merely tries to make you think it is, with 'profound' and 'important' dates and charts and....
